Horizon Hotel

I had a last minute trip to pick up some kittens and due to the travel involved required to spend the night before travelling back on trains. I called the hotel to confirm the kittens would be fine which they verified with an extra £10 per pet charge which seemed fine especially given the hotel room cost was already lower than others in the area. I was very pleasantly surprised to see how nice the hotel was. The reception area was nicely decorated and clean. The room itself was great and managed to sleep fine, excluding a wake up call from the kittens. The bathroom was also perfect for giving the kittens some supervised outside of carrier time as no gaps or anywhere for them to damage. Bed was comfy. I only had a brief stay and arrived in dark and left in morning (lots of kitten watching in the bathroom) so did not get a chance to explore the area. It was a 25 minute walk from station which was tricky as few road crossings but taxis only £5 and they have an app you can use for taxis estimates. The sea view I briefly saw in morning and very short walk from hotel.

Lovely to overlook the sea, only 10 mins from the town and 2 mins to the beach. Beautifully decorated for Christmas and lovely festive menu. Dogs welcome, but not intrusive if you're not a dog parent! Spotlessly clean everywhere and very accommodating staff. Room was toasty and you can control he radiators yourself. Practical shelving in the bathroom amd easy to use shower. Looking forward to returning in the summer for a longer stay.

Tea facilities in the room are plentiful, I was lucky enough to have a sea view and to have free parking off site (literally next door) was also a bonus that in England is rare unless you’re parking on site of your accommodation. Bed was very comfortable.

This is our third, but certainly not our last, trip to the Horizon. Lovely, clean, well run, quiet hotel with all required facilities. Management and staff are very friendly and welcoming. We have to mention Maggie in the lounge. A very nice young lady. Our room was very comfortable, clean and well serviced. Breakfast was cooked fresh and served to suit many tastes and appetites. We look forward to returning to the Horizon hotel in the near future.

Lovely hotel in a great location, friendly welcome, stunning reception and bar area, nice breakfast to start the day. We got lucky with the weather too, with a rare visit from the sun!
